Custom Quilting a Modern Quilt

Hello friends,

Recently, I completed a modern quilt that one of my clients’ made. I have to admit that it is a bit challenging to quilt a modern quilt because of its abstract characteristics. However, when my client shared the pattern (MQG 2023 Sew Along) with me, I could picture quilting secondary shapes in this geometrical quilt. Yet, the pattern is so bold that I didn’t want to steal the simple beauty of the quilt by adding complicated designs.

Before proceeding to quilt, I considered a few elements. First, I wanted to add curves to add some warmth. Second, I wanted to add a traditional touch. Last, I wanted to mimic a flare to emphasize the geometric pattern. So, here is how it was done! Thank you for checking!

Curves and feathers add comfort.

I couldn’t achieve it without these awesome rulers!
