Longarm Quilting Service

 

Thank you for choosing Pierce St. Quilts. I am very excited to be a part of your special quilts! To enhance your quilt, I provide hand guided custom quilting. Hand-guided quilting gives flexibility and personal touch that will make your quilt even more special!

  • 1. Please fill out the Order Form to share the information about your quilt. The maximum width I can quilt is 100”.

    2. Once I review your form, we will set up a drop off/shipping day.

    3. When I receive your quilt, I will communicate design options with you digitally.

    4. Once your quilt is done, I will send you an invoice.

    5. The quilt will be shipped once its payment is made.

  • Depending on your design choice, the rates can vary approx. $0.04-0.08 and up/sq. in.

    I also offer hand guided all over quilting. There are limited design options yet they are economical ($0.015-0.025) and fast. Check out the options here.

    Note that there is a minimum charge of $60.

    The maximum width I can quilt is 100”.

    I will discuss the design choices with you before proceeding with quilting.

    Batting

    You may bring your own batting, or you can purchase it from me.

    Quilters Dream 80/20 (93 inches wide) $9/yard (+ MI Sales Tax, 6%)

    Quilters Dream Wool (93 inches wide) $12/yard (+ MI Sales Tax, 6%)

    **I can also order any specific batting you want from Quilter’s Dream.

    Payment Options

    I take cash, Venmo, Paypal, and Credit Card. I require payment in full before I ship your quilt or before you pick it up.

    I will store your quilt up to 2 months. If the payment is not made within 2 months, I will donate it to a charity.

  • Turnaround time can vary depending on the previously booked quilts and complexity of your quilting design. I can provide more details about the completion time once I get your quilt. But, please feel free to contact me to get a time estimation.

  • If you are a local customer (I am located in Allendale, MI), you are welcomed to drop off your quilt by appointment. I can also meet in Jenison/Hudsonville area depending on the time.

    Shipping fee (both ways) is the responsibility of the client. I recommend mailing your quilts via the US Postal Service using Flat Rate boxes, which include tracking and $50 insurance in the cost. The return shipping cost will be added to your final invoice.

    When I finish your quilt, I will send it back to you via USPS or UPS depending on the rate. But, let me know if you have a preference or wish to add an insurance on your package.

  • To prepare your quilt for long arm quilting,

    1. Make sure all seams are nicely pressed and flat.

    2. Make sure your quilt is squared.

    3. Make sure your backing is at least 6” and batting is 4” larger than the quilt top on all sides so that it can be loaded properly onto the frame.

    4. If you need to piece your backing, please sew in horizontal seam. Here is a video link to show how. If you have questions about backing, please feel free to contact me.

    5. Make sure your batting is wrinkle free as much as possible. If it is from a package, put it in the dryer with a damp towel to reduce the wrinkle.

    6. If your quilt top or backing materials are not pressed properly, there will be additional charge of $25 per hour for ironing.
